Site Purpose
This site will provide access to various projects developed on the Raspberry Pi computer platform.
The Plan
- Develop Temperature Monitoring.
- Consolodate all types of sensor data into one database.
- Devlop Landscape Heater Control.
Other Projects
- Audio Streaming Server. Take audio from any analog source (radio, roku box, etc.) and stream it to the network. Would eliminate need of having to run full size computer to stream radio audio.
- Remote control of Irrigation Timers. Be able to disable watering from inside the house on rainy days.
- Remote control of Pool Pump Timer. Be able to turn off the pool pump from inside the house when the system is sucking air in the middle of the night.
- Remote control of Ham Radio peripheral equipment. Will eliminate need to have main (200+ Watt) computer running.
Updates
- Tues 11-Oct-2016
- Added Site EnvDB link. Creating newer version of Home EnvDB.
- Thurs 28-Jul-2016
- Home EnvDB Sensor Chart now supports 2 Plots. Can compare Temp in one part of the house to a Temp in another part of the house. Or, Outside Temp vs Humidity, etc, etc, etc.
- Fri 24-Jun-2016
- Added link to Station Control. A Raspberry Pi project to remotely control various hardware in the Ham Radio Station. Allows remote control of equipment (SteppIR Antenna Controller, Elecraft KPA-500 RF Power Amplifier, Flex Radio 6000 series radios and relays) via a web interface.
- Note: ONLY accessible on LAN.
- Sun 19-Jun-2016
- Weather Monitor and Forecast Analysis Charts now show Today's Max Temp. Of course, if temp is still increasing, Current and Max Temp will be the same. Still display Yesterday's Max Temp.
- Sat 18-Jun-2016
- Now receiving data from all sensors with an RTL-SDR R820T dongle. No longer need the Oregon Scientfic base unit with RS-232 interface.
- The new method of acquiring sensor data allows data from sensors other than (and including) Oregon Scientific. Now also get data from Ambient Weather Pool Temperature and LaCross TX temperature sensors.
- Tues 14-Jun-2016
- Home EnvDB, Sensor Chart now uses date picker to select From and To date range.
- Mon 13-Jun-2016
- Finished first revision of Station Control on a Raspberry Pi 3. Monitors frequency (and other data) from a Flex Radio Series 6000 radio and uses that data for control in other programs. Current application controls a SteppIR SDA 100 Controller for a BigIR Vertical antenna.
- Wed 21-Oct-2015
- Raspberry Pi no longer sends data to server using MySQL connection. See Weather Monitor and Forecast Analysis projects for more details.
- Thurs 3-Sep-2015
- Home EnvDB - now save users parameter selections for viewing next time.
- Sat 13-Dec-2014
- Now link to the Home Environment Database project from here.
- Wed 10-Dec-2014
- Temp Monitoring changes
- Now send data to claycomm.net HomeEnv database. Using http POST to a script on server which inserts data into database. Solves problem of having to register IP to use SQL insert directly.
- Temp Monitoring changes
- Sat 8-Feb-2014
- Added the Forecast Analysis project page.
- Fri 24-Jan-2014
- Updated Weather Monitor project page with new Weather Related Projects.
- Sun 12-Jan-2014
- Now read weather data from WMR-968 Weather Station (see Weather Monitor link on left).
- Fri 3-Jan-2014
- Now read temperatur data from sensor on Raspberry Pi (see Temp Monitoring link on left)
